Prudent use of insecticides thanks to insect traps.
These traps are set by GDON. They allow the most dangerous insect pests for vines to be monitored: grapevine moths (Eudemis and Cochylis), leafhoppers and ‘flavescence dorée’.
The aim: to limit insect treatments to what is strictly necessary and optimally performed, but also to better anticipate risks thanks to a good knowledge of pest distribution.
We also use insect repellents, designed to repel rather than kill insects. We spray kaolin (crushed calcined clay) on the vine leaves, which camouflages the vines and offers natural protection against leafhoppers. This visual illusion has halved the number of eggs laid by vine moths.
